Where Can I Serve?

CWS Hygiene Kits
We are assembling Church World Service Hygiene Kits.  These kits are sent all over the globe in times of crises to help people with the most basic of hygein needs.

Fair Trade
On the second Sunday of each month, items from a worker-owned co-op that sells 100% fair trade coffee, tea, cocoa and some foods are available in Fellowship Hall for purchase or order.

Food Pantry
We volunteer at the Algonquin Lake in the Hills Food Pantry.  To donate, bring non-perishables to church on the first Sunday of each month and place near the altar.  On other than first Sundays, please place items in the cart marked “Food Pantry” near the elevator on the main floor.  To volunteer at the Food Pantry, please call (847) 854-1904.

Heavenly Attic Resale Shop
The shop sells gently used items to the public at reasonable prices.  Donations are always welcome.  To donate, please place items in the cart marked “Heavenly Attic” near the elevator on the main floor. Volunteers are always needed to staff the store or prepare items for sale.  To contact the Heavenly Attic, please call (847) 584-4552.

McHenry County PADS
PADS offers emergency and transitional housing coupled with support services to help homeless individuals work toward becoming self sufficient. Volunteers from CCA provide periodic meals and services throughout the year.

Social Justice Advocates
Please check out their page for information, suggested causes and concerns in which you might want to become involved.

Teen Faith in Action
Teen Faith in Action  meets during the 10:00 am worship service on the 2nd and 4th Sundays. The concept of this group has come from our youth telling us that they want more opportunity to do mission work. They want to make a difference in our world. Two projects have been chosen for this group this year: Feed My Starving Children and the “Friends of the Environment” Table. The youth sell products one Sunday a month that help the environment, not to make a profit, but to make a difference.

Tutoring
We can help you find tutor training, provide materials and a meeting space for you and your student.  If interested please check out the Tutoring page here on this website.
